Yes, friends, Fluid Form is now in motion.
We began our journey way upstream in the Welsh mountains, right by the infamous and mystical waterfall at Devil's Bridge, where 3 river channels meet and flow together towards the Irish Sea. We isolated ourselves completely from urban life and our only other human contact was the local farmer who sold us firewood. We set up microphones, the computer and some cameras and, with no neighbours in earshot, we improvised through the day and night until we found new sound worlds to build upon.
At the bottom of the garden (where the opening frame of these videos was shot) is a river, which you can hear roaring from the kitchen. When it rains you can feel the channel heavy with molecules rushing down the steep valley, and when it is sunny you can sit on the smooth, mossy boulders and dip your feet in the icy water or even bathe in it!
With only animals and nature as a sonic background our music was certainly shaped by the context, and the feeling of total abandon knowing that whatever time or volume you play nobody will hear you. After 3 weeks of seculsion we packed down our DIY studio, transformed it back into an unassuming cottage and drove back to London to begin our Nordic Tour.
